The General Practitioners

Dr Martin Lane (1980) MB MA (1980) DCH DRCOG MRCGP MICGP

Joined the surgery in 1984. When not at the centre, he can be found on a hill, either walking or cycling.

Dr Mary Roycroft (1978) MB DCH BCH DOBS MICGP

Joined the surgery in 1997. She loves horses, farming and holidaying in the sun with a good book.

Dr Catherine Scannell (1993) MB DCH DME MICGP

Joined the surgery in 1998. When not seeing patients, she loves to relax at her family farm or with her family in Schull.

Dr Carmel Harte (1985) MB DCH BAO BCH DOBS MRCGP

Joined the surgery in September 2007, job-sharing with Dr Roycroft. She enjoys country walks, fair-weather running and escaping to sunnier climates.

Dental Surgery

Dr Noel Monaghan BDS [NUI] 1994 Dental Surgeon

Noel took over from Dr Niall Coakley in 2005. As an avid rower it was ironic that it was water (flooding) that forced him to move the practice from its happy home at 18 South Main Street to the equally happy home at The Millbrook Medical and Dental Centre.

Receptionists

The practice employs two lovely receptionists, Jane McCarthy and Annette Hickey, to deal with your enquiries and requests as efficiently as possible, whilst respecting your confidentiality.

Practice Nurse

Hester Jennings RN

Our practice nurse sees patients every morning Monday - Thursday. She is involved in all screening programmes, taking blood samples, ear syringing, routine blood pressure checks, cardiograms, and cervical smears. She also carries out general health checks, offers health advice, and assists in all the clinics.

We are a GP Training Practice

Our registrars are fully qualified and have a great deal of hospital experience. They are attached to our practice for 12 months and usually become general practitioner partners after completing their training. They are at all times encouraged to seek advice when required from the practice partners.

We are also fortunate to have medical students attached to our practice for short periods. If you do not wish to have a student present during your consultation, please inform the reception staff or doctor prior to your appointment.
